Kokonte Powder, also known as Brown Fufu or Cassava Flour, is made from sun-dried, ground cassava root and is a traditional staple swallow food enjoyed across Ghana, Togo, and other parts of West Africa. It has a distinctive brown-grey colour and a smooth, slightly earthy flavour when prepared. To prepare kokonte, simply mix the powder with hot or room temperature water and stir continuously until it thickens to the desired consistency. It is traditionally served with palm nut soup, groundnut soup, or light soup, making a hearty, satisfying meal. Kokonte is a good source of carbohydrates and dietary fibre, and is naturally gluten-free.
